Alpendorf (22 mins) Access into the Salzburger Sportwelt ski area, with its wide range of blue and red runs, ideal for intermediates.

Bad Hofgastein (21 mins) Part of the Gastein valley ski area, an intermediates paradise of well groomed, often quiet pistes. |
| Dienten (19 mins) Access into the little known Hochkoenig Winterreich ski area, providing 150km of superbly groomed, quiet pistes. |

Dorfgastein (15 mins) Another part of the Gastein valley, offering some of the best skiing in the area, stretching across to link with the village of Grossarl. |
| Rauris (15 mins) Ideal place for beginners and early intermediates to hone their skills with the English speaking ski school. Ski rental is available. There are two ski schools: Karl Maier Ski School and Adventure Ski School. |

Zell am See (25 mins) A wide range of flattering pistes for intermediates and steeper, more direct routes to the valley floor for the more advanced, along with lots of off-piste opportunities.
